Fuel usage policies should be reviewed in detail before renting a car from any car rental agency. The purpose of this article is to list the most relevant and commonly viewed fuel policies in the emirate. By understanding these points, you will be able to analyze your rental agreement and thus save yourself from unnecessary hidden expenses.
Full to Full
Under this agreement, your rental car is delivered to you with a full tank. At the end of the rental period, the vehicle must be delivered with a full tank. If you do not, you will have to pay based on the amount of fuel lost. If there is a clause in your rental agreement, check the fuel level before returning the vehicle.
Same to Same
This is similar to the above policy. Here you have to return the car with the same amount of fuel as it was at the time it was received. So, if you have received half the whole car, you should return it with the same amount.
Full to Empty
In that case, you will receive a full tank vehicle. However, in this case, you have the freedom to return the car from the empty tank. Please note that you will not be reimbursed for the fuel you have not used. If you want to return it empty, make sure you don’t get stuck on the road.
This includes providing a full fuel tank for rent. However, you have complete freedom as to how you want to return it. For those who are likely to travel a little and consume plenty of fuel, this would be a good option.
Partial refund on completely empty policy
This is a minor variation of the “completely empty” rule mentioned above. Here, you will be given the actual charge or compensation for the remaining fuel. In the case of short trips where you know you won’t run out of fuel in the tank, this would be a good fuel policy.
Fuel policies vary between car rental companies. It is in your best interest to be clear about the fuel policy that applies to the vehicle you are renting. At Kohistan rent a car, we pride ourselves on the transparency of our fuel policies.
